King's Step Internships

Recent King's graduates can apply for King's Step Internships. These are paid work opportunities lasting between 8 weeks and 12 months open only to King's students and Graduates. They give you an opportunity to get some solid work experience that employers so frequently demand. The position below would give anyone with an interest in policy, government, consultancy or project management an excellent first step on the ladder. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a graduate to take on a full time internship at the Tri-Borough’s (Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea) Children’s Services Department as a Projects Support Intern. Candidates are strongly advised to apply as early as possible.

The Role

Key Tasks and Deliverables

• Administrative support for project managers Collating and reporting project status to senior management • Providing standards, methodologies and a set of PM tools • Managing project documentation (including risk registers, schedules, incident logs etc) • Basic support services • Providing estimating, scheduling and risk management support to PMs • Coordinating plans between projects and monitoring resource use • Monitoring and reviewing project performance • Quality monitoring and enforcement of standards (Projects and Service Desk) • Arranging meetings, capturing and circulating minutes, data capture and data gathering • Other tasks as required

Essential Skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • A well organised individual with an ability to plan ahead • A strong team worker • A Self motivating individual, able to act on own initiative and be proactive • Excellent time management skills • Strong computing skills

Desirable Skills

• Excellent analysis and research skills • The ability to be flexible and adaptable depending according to the needs of the team

Benefits

£221 per week exempt from Tax and NI
