With some students being asked to pay thousands of Pounds for internships we thought it especially timely that we spoke to Helen Kenny one of the consultants in a new organisation, Graduate Gateway, that is providing paid internships in London in the public and private sector.
The Department for International Development (DFID) have opened applications for their 2015 graduate scheme. This is an opportunity to gain 12 months paid work experience within DFID. Whilst it does not directly lead to a permanent position the contacts and experience you gain will be invaluable.
The National Citzen Service is the UK based version of the International Citizen Service (blogged about regularly on these pages). While the National programme itself is for 16 and 17 year olds there are PAID opportunities available in the summer of 2015 to help deliver the UK programme. This could be working as a mentor, running workshops on different areas of expertise or helping at outward bound projects.
