A recent article in the Evening Standard talks about homophobia in the workplace with particular reference to City jobs.
Ivan Massow the author of the article has written in response to Lord Browne's recent claims that homophobia in the business world is rife.
Massow, taking a positive stance on attitudes towards gay men and women states; "far from shying away from gay-friendly issues, major banks and financial institutions seem to be falling over themselves to embrace them".
If you are thinking about a career in the City take a look at the full article for a different perspective on attitudes towards sexuality in the workplace. There are also some interesting stats included from Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index, which measures how companies treat LGBT employees. Last year the winner was Ernst & Young, with Barclays and Goldman Sachs following closely behind.
